How to remove a word from your dictionary on MS Word?

I accidentally added 'youre' to the dictionary on MS Word which will likely prompt thousands of grammatical errors in my future papers. Is there any way for me to remove it?

  1. This may be different for other versions of MS Word, but in Word 2003: Click on tools-->Options and, in the resulting window, click on the "Spelling and Grammar" tab Under the spelling heading click on the button entitled "Custom Dictionaries." Unless you have added other custom dictionaries you should have only one named "custom.dic." Make certain this selection is highlighted and click "modify." You should be able to scroll down the list that opens and find the word you would like to remove. Highlight it and click delete. Click OK 3 times and you are finished.
